I’ll be traveling to Scandinavia for the next 10 days—something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
I’m especially interested in:
- Sauna culture
- Nordic wildlife like reindeer
- Viking history
- Winter sports and outdoor living
- Scandinavian resistance during World War II
When I told my wife I was hoping to see reindeer on the trip and she said "They are real?" - I said they don't have red noses or fly but they are real.
While I may not be posting during the trip, I’ll be capturing photos and ideas for future content.
In the meantime, feel free to explore:

- Independence Celebration: Norway celebrates Constitution Day (May 17) with massive children’s parades rather than military displays.
Hoping to come back with new insights—and maybe a bit of that Scandinavian calm.
Stay healthy and happy.

ReplyDeleteCopenhagen is a vibrant, walkable city with an extraordinary number of bike lanes and cyclists.
We enjoyed Danish pastries and soaked up the sunny atmosphere alongside locals embracing "Hygge" — the Danish cultural concept of coziness, togetherness, and savoring simple pleasures.
A highlight was visiting Freetown Christiania, a fascinating 84-acre self-governing hippie commune established in 1971, known for its colorful homes, alternative lifestyle, and car-free streets.
Despite high taxes, Danes enjoy free healthcare and education, reflecting a society that clearly prioritizes community well-being — a theme felt throughout the entire city.
