Cauliflower Pizza |
Cauliflower pizza crust, made from cauliflower, eggs, cheese, and sometimes almond flour, is a lower-calorie, more nutritious alternative to traditional pizza crust. It's packed with fiber, promoting gut health, and protein from eggs and cheese to help keep you full.
For those aiming to reduce carbs, go gluten-free, or add more veggies to their diet, cauliflower crust is an excellent choice. With only 27 calories per cup (107 g), cauliflower is a low-calorie substitute for high-calorie ingredients like rice and flour.
Cauliflower is rich in fiber and water, aiding digestion, preventing constipation, and reducing the risk of colon cancer. It also contains glucosinolates, compounds that may protect against cancer and have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties.
Though cauliflower is a carbohydrate, it's the complex, non-starchy type, offering plenty of fiber with minimal natural sugar.
I eat cauliflower pizza 1 to 2 times a week. For extra flavor as seen in my image I top it with tomatoes, pico de gallo, and sometimes broccoli, green onions, or spinach. It's delicious and filling!
