Creatine: The Ultimate Energy Boost for Your Muscles and Brain

What is Creatine ?

Creatine is your body's built-in fuel source, powering muscle contractions and intense workouts. Half comes from protein-packed foods like red meat, seafood, and milk, while your organs (liver, kidneys, pancreas) make the rest. Most of it heads straight to your muscles, with a small reserve for your brain, heart and other tissues.

Why Use Creatine Supplement?

Creatine isn't just for bodybuilders - it's for anyone who wants:

  • Bigger, stronger muscles (especially when lifting)
  • Explosive energy bursts for sprinting or high-intensity activities.
  • Brain Benefits like sharper memory and focus, especially in older adults.

Does It Work?

Yes For those aged 18-30, creatine paired with regular exercise leads to noticeable strength and performance gains. Older adults and people with muscle-related conditions might also benefit, though research is ongoing.

Is It Safe?

For most people, absolutely. Creatine is one of the most studied supplements out there. Just check with your healthcare provider if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing kidney, liver, or mental health conditions.

What Type Should You Take?

Creatine monohydrate is the gold standard. It's reliable, effective, and perfect for short, intense workouts.

What Happens When You Take It?

Creatine boosts your energy stores (ATP), helping you:

  • Recover faster from muscle strain.
  • Stay hydrated for optimal muscle growth.
  • Boost anabolic hormones for better tissue repair.

Side Effects?

Mild issues like water retention, nausea, or diarrhea can happen, but they're rare. Split your doses to avoid trouble.

If You Stop Taking IT...

Your levels will drop, potentially causing fatigue or slight muscle loss. Keep training to hold onto your gains.

Should You Try It?

If you want stronger muscles, better workouts, and even sharper mind, creatine could be your secret weapon. Just consult your doctor to make sure it's right for you.

Level up your strength. Elevate your mind. Start with creatine today.

I took Creatine for 4 months while Rucking 3 days a week and Weight-Lifting 3 days a week and I didn't experience any of the following

  • Bigger, stronger muscles (especially when lifting)
  • Explosive energy bursts for sprinting or high-intensity activities.
  • Brain Benefits like sharper memory and focus, especially in older adults.

I decided to stop taking it as I was concerned that it would just cause me to put on weight. I don't know if this was due to my age ( 66 ) but I would encourage anyone interested in the benefits above and consistently working out to give Creatine a try as although it didn't work for me it may work for you. If it doesn't provide the benefits listed above you can simply stop taking it.

Healthy Living Strategies

As this is my first year of retirement and it being Christmas time I have been looking back on some of the crazy times myself and my brothers had growing up. Below are some animations detailing the chaos which I hope you enjoy.

Don't worry no brothers were harmed in the creation of this post or the creation of the animations.
