Before I retired my wife was passive aggressive but now she has become aggressive aggressive. She asked me what I was going to do on 11/11 so I told her nothing. She said that is what I did the day before so I said - "Yes and I am not finished".
Over the past few days when my wife was speaking to me I remember hearing :"Yak", "Yak", "Yak" then something about getting rid of the leaves in the front yard so in addition to Rucking for an hour then climbing 130 stairs in my house while wearing my 35 pound weight vest I mowed the front lawn and raked and bagged up all the leaves. After doing this for an hour I was tired but I was glad that the front of the house was almost completely free of leaves. I went to bed tired but happy that the leaves were gone from the front yard and that I could then concentrate over the next few days on raking up the leaves in the back yard.
The morning of 11/12 I went outside and there were so many leaves that it looked like I hadn't raked up and bagged any leaves the previous day which was aggravating. I guess I can take some consolation in the fact it is leaves I am dealing with and not snow. I took the day off from leaf removal and worked on a new strategy to deal with the leaves as I couldn't let them win.
On 11/13 after much prodding from the wife I decided to once again remove all the leaves and after 2 and 1/2 hours 10 bags were filled and all the leaves were gone from around my house.
On 11/14 I got up, went outside and as of now the score is Rick 1 and Mother Nature 0 as there were no major deposits of leaves around the front of the house. I am happy but I don't think this is the end of the leaves for this year. I will keep everyone updated on my continuing leaf battle.
Below are pictures of the front of my house currently without any major deposits of leaves ( Hope it stays this way ).
